My Home

Standard

on the open road again

sunlight in my eyes

windows down

and the wild wind whipping my hair about

i breathe

and keep driving

with nowhere to go

radio turned off so

i can hear my thoughts

my heart

and the birds

i go down any road i wish

and soak in the beauty

i touch the beauty

this beauty that rescues me

and holds me up

reminds me everywhere is home

i am my home

Retract

Standard

Retract your claws.

Release your grasp

On old hurts and regrets of the past.

Those

Wounds left open

And afflicted in you by others.

Wrongs done by you yourself as well.

Misunderstandings and assumptions

Creating resentment in your belly.

Release them into the stillness.

This is not a practice round but you already know that.

And you wonder why,

Oh why

Sweet misery still beds you.

Untie the binds that restrain you from

Reaching.

From touching.

From holding love to your heart.

Do not wait.

Sorry

Standard

Sorry if I flinch

When you make a sudden movement.

Sorry if I recoil

From your touch.

Sorry if I jump in response

To an unexpected noise.

Sorry if I don’t talk

All that much.

Sorry I can’t look you in the eye when

You speak to me.

Sorry if it seems I

Utter words in whispers.

Sorry if I am too sorry

You see,

It’s become

First nature

For me.

There I Will

Standard

I’m going to close my eyes

And there I will see you.

There I will be with you.

I’m going to open my arms

And there I will hold you.

There I will touch you.

I’m going to open my heart

And there I will greet you.

There I will love you.

I’m going to lay down my soul

And there I will feel you.

There I will breathe you.
