We were two sinking ships
Who could not quite
Reach each other in the squall.

Overwhelmed and lost;
Arms too weakened to hold
Anyone but ourselves
Above the crashing waves.
Oh how I loved you.
And the crashing thunder
Roared pitilessly
Drowning out the sound
Of my breaking heart
As I,
Myself drowning,
Helplessly watched
You drift out of
Sight.
There are people i remember,
Then those
I have forgotten
Until i see their
Face.
And memories return
But not the same memories
They recall;
And i think
Isn’t that odd
What means the most?
Some are ghosts
And some still wander here with feet upon
This earth.
I am left pondering
As they walk away;
Until
Thunder startles
Me.
And i remember
There are things I have left undone.
The clouds,
They seemto hold me.
In the hush between the stars
I hear galaxies
Sing your name.
Disorder
Takes a pause
Between the echoes of rolling thunder
And the rain.
I dream

Dream on.
What an enchanted
Trance
I am
Under.
She will try not to run.
She will try not to hide.
She will try not to turn away.
She will look you in the eye.
She will listen to you speak
Of her as if she is pretty
While voices scream otherwise in her head.
She will stay when you smile at her tenderly,
Every cell in her body desiring nothing more
Than to vanish.
Her heartbeat has been rendered immobile.
Artifacts from days gone by holding every
Ventricle hostage.
She is trying to be brave.
If you knew
How the earth shook beneath her feet
When she moved,
How the thunder echoed in her ears
When she tried to speak
You would
Realize just how courageous
She is.
Yes,
In me there are
Unexplored territories.
There are deserts
And oceans
Unknown.
There are unfinished poems
And dreams moving rhythmically
To the music of my soul.
In me.
Hidden realities.
Inside me thunder and lightening reside.
They do not just come and visit for a while.
I was running in a nightmare
When your thunder
Woke my heart.
I was trying to put
Back together
What love had torn apart.
Now I realize
I should
Let those pieces lie
Where they are.
Without them
I can fly higher,
I can reach the stars.
Let the storm come over me.
Soak my soul
In tears.
Shake my heart to pieces
With
Thunder from the sky.
Let the lightening
Ignite this love that’s
Been slumbering
Inside
Behind these mighty walls.

It’s been so long since I’ve
Felt whole.
