Kitty comes
And forcefully pushes
His head against my hand,
Knocking the phone out of my grasp
And onto the floor.
Purring loudly;
He has his way of
Reminding me where
Love and
The real world are
Waiting patiently,
Steadfast and true.
Kitty comes

Knocking the phone out of my grasp
And onto the floor.
Purring loudly;
He has his way of
Reminding me where
Love and
The real world are
Waiting patiently,
Steadfast and true.
Time
Tick
Time
Tock
Goes the clock
Out of synch with my beating heart.
And the gears
Seem to know their job.
To know exactly what to do at the precise moment.
Time
Tick
Time
Tock
My heart so clumsy and forgetful
In comparison to the graceful way
The
Pendulum
Swings.
It keeps swaying,
Steadfast.
It does not ask questions
Or
Reminisce.
All the while my heart thumping
To fill in the
Moments
In-between each
Tick.
In-between each
Tock.
Until
The clock,
It
Stops.
Love heals
The open wound.
And in its
Steadfast
Silence,
Gives wings
To the
Broken soul.
