We Are

Standard

Let your voice be the song

That reminds

Each soul of the beauty they have within.

Sing

A peaceful tune, clear and sweet

That carries hearts home

To

Their own love.

We are the medicine.

We are

The cure.

We always have been;

It comes out from within.

Remind them.

Remind them.

With your song

Steady and smoothly falling from your lips,

Beating from your heart.

The perfect pitch.

 The infinite resonance

Of Love.

Apparition

Standard

You must have been an

Apparition.

A made up someone in my

Imagination.

For I wandered these stone stairwells

And

I roamed through

Winters withering garden

Following your song.

I knew I should find shelter,

Somewhere to warm my core.

But once outside I could return

Inside no more

For

I was met with barred windows and

Locked doors.

I found you in the courtyard.

I tried to reach you.

Touch you.

You vanished as I approached.

My fingers now cold and frozen,

I,

Left dreaming in the fog with ghosts and snowflakes.

And I remained alone

As I was all

Along.

I must have mistaken the

Wind howling through

Windows and doors,

Through

      Winters garden

                                For your song.

Longest Ache

Standard

The longest ache.

Tears form in the corner of my eyes when

I remember the magic i felt,

The beauty I witnessed.

And I remember wiping

The red dust from my cheeks

So long ago.

The joy and the wonder a new sight can

bring,

The souls one meets that love a song.

To think

Once

I did not believe.

It was another life now

And then another

And here I am still in wonder.

The longest ache sears through my veins.

The yearning remains.

The ancient beats within my heart reverberate

Through time unseen in synchronization with those who came before

And those yet to come.

Unafraid

Standard

The

Bird keeps singing his song

As I approach the tree

So sweet

The melody.

I stop and close my eyes to listen

Appreciatively

Letting this music swirl around me.

And I open my eyes

In spring sun glare

Taking a few steps closer.

He stays unafraid

And his song is all I hear

Now amidst this chaos in my mind.

Forgetting human language for a time

I am steady.

Raspberries

Standard

I stepped outside

And it hit me like a wave;

The smell of fresh dirt;

The forest floor and raspberries.

Fresh raspberries.

Right there on the cement

Surrounded by cars and buildings.

Heartfelt memories tugging.

Tugging.

A scent that cannot be duplicated by man.

I knew instantly in my heart it was my father,

Gone 20 years now.

I was taken back to childhood

Days and picking delicious raspberries in the woods;

Eating more than ended up in the bowl.

I composed myself and

Walked to my car.

Sitting in the front seat;

Missing him.

I turned the key to start the

Engine

And there was his song playing.

The one my siblings and I requested on the Radio station the day of his funeral.

I am glad he reminds me he is near.
