The sun is going down
And kissing us goodnight.
The moon is shining high
Lending us her light.
We love under her guidance.
We dream.
The summer air caresses us.
The universe
She cradles us.
Our hearts they beat as one.
It has begun.
You and me
Were always meant to be.
So what do you want to do?
Where do you want to go?
Tell me your love is true.
Tell me you want to know.
That I’ve got a little secret.
I was going to try and keep it
But your eyes, they are sparkling
And my smile, I can’t hide it.
And your laugh it is addictive
It stirs the music in my soul.
So let’s love while we can.

Where beauty steals the
Air from our lungs

And wonder
At the silent grace

Why must you keep it
Hidden in the dark?

That the empty space,
The one that could never be filled
Until that very moment,
The one that had been vacant

You keep your eyes down low
And opinions to yourself.
Don’t you dare start a fight.

You keep your heartbeat quiet
And tiptoe around corners
So as not to disturb the false
Serenity.
In my world,
You stay on your knees.
Make yourself as small as possible
And do what does not need asking.
In my world,
You dream in the shadows.
Become the shadows
And hide any shiny hope you treasure
From thieves
Who have none of their own.

A breath
A touch
A slow,
Passionate kiss.
It begins with a sigh.
Roaming
Reaching
Chemicals merging.
I fall into the the
Abyss
That is you.
Embrace.

A fever
Luminous inside.
Burning
Bursting
A light
Uncircimscribed.

I scribble it all on paper.
Sometimes in such a desperate
Frenzy
I cannot decipher it later.
At stop lights.
In bed.
At the movies in the dark.
A voice memo at the park.
At 3 o’clock in the morning
All these thoughts in my mind
Colliding in time.
Delving into
Emotions I don’t always get.
But I know I’m not the only one
On this planet
With nonstop
Voices in my head.
The few lines I have been brave enough to
Read
Aloud;
I have to stop and catch my breathe
To put life into the words.
The first time I
Hear them spoken
The fractured portions of me,
The passion and the fears
Through life and
Through the years
Stir the tears and they
Begin to flow.
For even I myself do not
Recognize
How deep these feelings
Move without restraint.
And the words uttered
With emotion
Sear the ragged edges
Of my heart.
