Those Who See

Standard

For those who

See the fear that paralyzes those

Traumatized

Mentally, physically and emotionally;

The ones who hear them;

Those that have no words left to express the fear, the doubt, the shame, the hopelessness;

You who take time to

Offer love, patience and stillness,

There is so much gratitude intangible;

You are not forgotten.

Because of your tender acts of kindness

Many have chosen to see another day.

Love.

chorus

Standard

I step mindfully on the rivers edge

As to not stumble and fall.

The water is very patient in this, its journey,

To shape the earth whether a drop or

A cascade.

I must stop and steady myself if I wish to lift my gaze to the heavens.

I hear a thousand voices in the winds.

Even the eagles above and the river

Below join in the chorus of our ancestors;

It is always love.

Hidden

Standard

Trauma

Hides in your body

unknowingly swallowed

And it finds some cozy,

Safe place to hide

A muscle or tendon

And you

Think you have gotten

Under

Or over

It,

But

You neglected the hardest part,

Going through the depths of yourself to purge it.

Find it there

Gather it up and hold it there

In love

In patience.

The tension has been there long

Allow it to be.

These parts of you long for love.

Set yourself free and gaze into yourself

Allowing your love to soften and release

Into the stillness,

One at a time,

Each piece that has planted itself in you out of fear.

And honor your path to healing

For it is yours alone.

mind

Standard

her mind was quite broken you see.

for so long the road to healing has been most tedious.

she has had to learn to allow herself grace

and tenderness unapologetically

she has had to learn she does not need to justify this to

anyone

for even she was unaware that those wounds were too painful to touch

that even her skin was deeply bruised

with heart and mind

and this takes time

giving herself space to grow new strength

unspoken

and nurturing her own roots

and spirit

which ultimately remain

unbroken

love and tenderness for oneself grow freely when welcomed

and cared for unconditionally

More

Standard

I can feel your soul
Oh so close
ButI can’t quite touch you.

I can hear you breath
Oh so soft
I want to hold you.

So please tell me how you do it?
See through me like there is nothing to it.
Find my cracks and bring them light.
You are slowly bringing me back to life.

Soft words
Kind love
Like nothing I have
Felt before.

You give and give
And still have more.

I shrink away

But still you stay.

I come a little bit closer

Every day.

Ready to bolt at any

Minute.

You just smile and wait

Patiently

Knowing in time

You will see

All of me.
