Stories

Standard

As she was talking of herself,

Telling stories of the past,

She realized fully how

All these memories overflowing with emotions that at the time were so big and real,

Are moments long gone.

They are just words now.

Paint on a canvas to create a picture

For the listener of her

Life.

The Clown

Standard

Once a week in elementary school

The art teacher

Would bring her cart into the classroom.

On a particular art lesson

She painted an example of a clown

Smiling. Colorful.

Reds and whites and blues.

In turn we were told to paint our own.

I sat and stared at my paint and paper

 While the other kids started.

I was always so unsure of myself, overthinking.

I looked around at my classmates

Paintings.

They were all copying the art teachers example.

I remember thinking it was strange,

All the same.

So i proceeded to paint

With

Black, blue and gray,

A frowning clown with a dead flower in

His hat.

( looking back now, I laugh))

Mine clashed with the rest.

And they were all placed on display in the hallway all bright, except one looking quite out of sorts.

A sad sorry clown surrounded

By

Bright and happy ones.

The school contacted my parents and

Thought perhaps they should seek counseling for me.

Let It Out

Standard

The struggle in your the heart
The battle in your the mind.
To let it all out
Or keep it Inside.

Afraid that those you love might
Walk away.
Afraid of those you trust,
Of what they might
Say.

But all you have inside,
Is too beautiful not to share.
There are many who feel the same

Way,
There are many who truly care.

To see the the colors you
Paint.
To hear the music of your heart.
To feel the treasures you create.
To be touched by the rhyme
And verse of your soul.

The whole of you.
The beauty dancing inside.
