Accountability

Standard

One of

Our greatest fears is admitting accountability;

For then we must see our words and actions

Do make a difference in this world.

Each of us contribute to both the pain and joy.

Until we face ourselves and change our awareness of our own selves,

Reactions of heart and mind,

We allow ourselves to be merely pawns.

Unexpected

Standard

The trees before me

Wave an acknowledging hello

As the wind escorts the clouds

All blue and gray

Over the mountain peak.

And unexpected joy

Seeps into my skin as

A deer wanders near my seat and stops to stare.

An ant wanders onto my foot.

I know he is lost

For I have nothing to

Offer him.

Back to the dirt he returns.

Dreams

Standard

Yesterday.

What’s done is done.

This moment,

What is yet to come.

My mind keeps

Digging,

Burying

And wondering.

Remembering,

Creating

And forgetting.

Let sleep come none to soon

And carry me to dreamland

Where no one

Restrains these

Thoughts.

These imaginings and reminiscings in

Sweet, vivid colors

As I dance through fallen

And falling leaves in the deep

Magical forest.

Snowflake flurries.

My amusement and joy magnified

In kaleidoscopic colors and melodies.

Peaceful

Joy.

Peaceful breaths.

October

Standard

October sky.

i see the air as the breath

leaves my lips.

tree roots set themselves

deep and steady

ready for the chill to come.

branches reaching

to reassure one another.

inside lifeforce welcomes all stages of life,

happy to greet wind and rain

snowfall and sunlight.

living to live

and bring great joy

to earth and sky.

i touch the tree and know,

i

 know we are not so

different and i am thankful.

Constant Abode

Standard

Pardon me while I hold on to

You selfishly from time to time

My child.

For you are part of me.

Infused in my

Bones

And heart,

My being.

Peace settles me completely

When in my arms you sleep.

And supreme joy engulfs me

When your hand in mine

You keep.

 Eternally

My heart exceeds mortal capacity

As

I watch you soar.

And always here I am with

A heart of flame if ever you need more

Kindling to begin again

A fire of your own.

Always

Always

A constant abode.
