She lives in a nightmare.
The
Monsters are not under her bed
Or in her head.
They are not in the closet
Or in a movie.
The are
Sleeping soundly in their beds.
And she wonders if they ever have nightmares of their own

They are in the other room
Of her home.
She is made from their
Flesh and bone.
In the rain she hides her
Insanity.
In the firestorm
She comes
Alive.
She rides the wind
And becomes the mayhem
While
Others run and hide.
She
Laughs in the
Eye
Of
The
Storm
And has learned to call it home.
She always has a smile
And is such a good girl.
Would never do anything
To make you feel bad.
Would never let you know when she is
Sad.
And so,
She walks herself home
Most nights
And sleeps with the lights on.
Though she is always there,
You never notice when she has gone,
Away.
Staying on the edge of the shadows,
She sits at home alone

Wonders
If she is real
Or if
The others are just ghosts in the light.
In time
The soul’s knowing
Will begin
And home
Will be found
