She is fine
Until she falls
And then
She crawls.
But no one sees you when
You are beneath
Their feet,
It does not occur to them at all,
Unless they too have
Been
Below
For they know without a doubt,
Recognizing the sound
Of a barely beating heart.
She is fine
Until she falls
And then
She crawls.
But no one sees you when
You are beneath
Their feet,
It does not occur to them at all,
Unless they too have
Been
Below
For they know without a doubt,
Recognizing the sound
Of a barely beating heart.
I have such a story to share,
So many stories within
The story.
Where do I start?
Her heart softly replied,
“Just like you breathe one breath at a time,
As you step one foot in front of the other.
In every moment you pause.
One memory,
One word;
One word at a time.”
A red cardinal over there,
A mesquite tree over here.
Mother Nature shows me many creations.
The smell of wet saltgrass and dirt
Fill my senses.
This oak tree I am under,
Her leaves shine as if coated in silver
As raindrops sparkle setting delight afire
Within my heart.
Nature presents herself
As is,
The individual decides whether she is beautiful or not.
Love,
Breathe
And be.
Open your heart.
Open your mind.
Open your eyes.
Drop the definitions.
Knock down the fences.
Obliterate the walls.
You are in your own way.
You have constrained your mind,
Your heart.
And wrapped yourself
So tight in definitions,
You cannot breathe.
This barricade you have built
Has left you with nowhere to go and
Nothing new to see.
Now,
You have limited your own vision.

You are the moon
And the the stars and
The air in between that touches me,
That fills me and empties me;
The gravity and the lack thereof,
Everywhere
And all the time.
Pulling me, freeing me.
My lungs, my heart, my mind and skin
Crave and weep.
Bliss. Rhapsody.
I want more.
I am tending to my Angel wings.
They refuse to do their part.
They have left me cold and stranded,
Left me weeping in my heart.
They are tattered and worn.
They are bloodied and torn.
They were not this way
On the day I was born.
~
I see your Angel wings are tattered.
I see that they are worn.
I hear your weeping heart
And I want to keep you warm.
I know your soul is weary.
What if I told you mine is weary too?
We could both try together
To mend a tear or two.
We can find a strength in each other
That knows no distance,
Knows no time.
We will find a strength together
And again we will fly.
Again with stronger wings,
Again with shiny souls,
Again with beating hearts
When we have patched up all the
Holes.

He carries this world in his heart
And when i look in his eyes
There it is;
This beautiful gaze full of
Love and starbursts.
Confusion.
Smiles.
In the kiss, lucidity.
And he blinks in morse code;
My heart dances.
Suns have come and gone
Time throughout.
Here we are.
Hands linked
We leap.
The clock calls the midnight hour.
I close my eyes and
Am aware of
You
Everywhere I turn.
My pulse races
And my mind gets dizzy.
I put my hand to my heart
And hold myself steady;
Flushed
With heat,
My skin tingling.
This is your magic
At work once more.
Intuition. Instinct.
A faint melody plays through my memories.
There is no reasoning nor answers
In explanation.
We are in synch and I breathe.
We are in synch and I dance.
The truth of us
Unspoken,
Unwritten,
Unfathomable
In the mind.
Divine mystical mystery.
Over mountains and oceans far goes the yearning.
Over soft curves of my skin fall the tears.
I was taught to
Swallow my tears.
Keep them within,
Becoming bloated with grief.
My blood saturated with salt
Until
Solidified
Heart so heavy
And lungs drowned with self inflicted water,
I could no longer stand.
I could not absorb oxygen needed to keep warm nor fully breathe,
Could not pump blood through my own veins to live.
Not knowing that to cry was such strength
For those surrounding me
Saw it,
Claimed it as
Victory;
A winning of some kind to break another more than yourself.
I still cry in the dark.
I never said I was perfect.
Let’s sneak out after midnight.
Meet me down the road.
We’ll go running through the field.
Nobody will know.
Bring your father’s bourbon
And a radio too.
We’ll listen to some music,
Maybe dance a song or two.
I’ll bring us a blanket
And wear my yellow dress.
The one I wore last summer,
The one you like best.
We’ll lay down with each other,
Not breathe a single word.
Because we know what our hearts are saying,
Nothing that can be heard.
We’ll count the stars to a million.
We’ll laugh until we cry.
We’ll hold each others hands,
Watch the lightening bugs make fire in the
Sky.
And I can’t wait to see you.
Can’t wait to breathe you in.
Can’t wait to see your laughing eyes
And do it all again.
