Without Fear

Standard

You are afraid of the way she leaves you

Reeling.

She can feel you.

See more than your skin.

Parts of you not one single heart has

Seen.

Or held.

No questions

Or explanations.

Just being.

You move to her without resistance

For there is none left,

Not even in your darkest parts.

The voices have hushed.

She has penetrated and annihilated the threat

For she is audacious.

Reached into them with her unspoken light

And held each one to her soul.

Singing them to sleep

Without destroying herself.

Now look.

Without fear there is only

Love.

Atoms and Cells

Standard

There is this burning in my belly,

This aching in my breast.

I struggle to keep my heart contained

Within my chest.

It is just the thought of you,

For you are not even near.

It’s just my atoms

And cells

Retain

The body of you.

Come home.

My heart will not stay still much longer

For

It is not where it belongs.

It’s just

What I must endure

While I am

Imagining

You here.

I am

Aching and breathing.

I am

Aching and dreaming.

She Sees Herself

Standard

No one has really ever known her.

Seen her.

It is because she seldom speaks up.

She is so tired of

Trying to be heard above the noise.

She does not share her stories anymore

So others just see her smile.

They feel her hugs.

They think she is the quiet girl,

The frail one

Because she is kind.

She is learning that she does not have to explain to anyone.

She used to try but her lips stop her now.

And her heart.

Someday she will meet someone who truly sees her.

Until then she sees herself and that is enough.
