My Mind

Standard

My mind is playing the

“You can’t” game.

The

“You aren’t” ,

“You are too this or too that” game.

It is exhausting these climbs and the cliffs.

I fall.

Continually crawling back up.

Gravel on my knees,

Vines and thorns around my throat.

Reminding myself

Not to struggle so much

Against them

For

They just dig deeper into my flesh.

I close my eyes.

Exhale.

Count to three and open my eyes again.

Cocoon

Standard

Seems she has been in her cocoon
For some time now.
Lingering
There,
In between.
Wings damp
Eyes wide open
Wondering if maybe she took too long,
For she has always been one to fall behind.
Following her heart in haste
Leaving her mind reeling;
Confused by the games.

(She thinks she was sleeping while they read the rules)
She had immersed herself in
Her own
Ethereal
Delicious love
Only to find herself alone
Upon
Emerging from the healing.
She will rise up through
The air
Now.
She is aware
Ceilings, walls

And floors
Are imaginary.

Expectations

Standard

So who sold you that neat little

Blueprint

For the perfectly shaped box of

Expectations

You built?
You thought you followed the Directions and built it right
Now you cannot figure why
You are living such an empty
Life.
Is it going well dragging it around like A ball and chain?

Did you think you would play it like a simple Game?
Do all of the disappointments
Have you crawling around
On the ground?
I know you tried to fix it up
In pretty ribbons
And bows.
I hope you have

Finally figured it out.
I hope you know.
You need to smash it baby.
Drop it on the floor
And kick it out the door.
Life’s a roller coaster
You have to let go.
Break your

Expectations

Limitations.
Take a running leap
And
Soar.
