Bonfire

Standard

Everyone is made of fire.
Some have had their flames doused by self

Doubt,
Or snuffed out by careless actions and words.
They have forgotten the heat
Of their soul.
Let us help remind
Them
They hold the kindling.

Eternal embers remain within.
Let us help one another restart
Our bonfire hearts.

Time Slumbers

Standard

Clouds of black

As day turns to night.

I try to speak with all my might,

Soundless.

On hands and knees I crawl.

The wind pushes me to where i do not wish to go,

Where i do not recall my name.

My skin feels not my own.

I lie motionless,

Overcome with shadows.

Still i breath.

I sleep until I forget

And dream

In a place

Where time slumbers

And forgets as well.

Mere words

Standard

We are neither one

Nor the other

Which we try to

Call each other.

Identities created leave us encased in circles.

Either looking up or down,

Not around.

Forgetting there is more.

Thinking we are bound by others thoughts on life

And love.

We are too much to be reduced

To mere words created

In an effort to make sense.

Old Piano

Standard

Once this old piano knew happy days

For music brings joy

And passion.

Cobwebs and dust have settled on the keys.

Broken strings and rust sleep well

In dark places.

Notes forgotten

For it cannot play itself

Back to

Music.

Yearning for the feel of

Warm fingers upon

The ivory;

For harmonious voices to join in

All its melodic glory;

For bodies full of life and love to glide and swing as one.

Silence plays

Alone.

Time does not forget,

People do.
