Expectantly

Standard

I stand at the edge of

All that I know

And peer expectantly into forever,

Hoping to catch you glancing

At me.

 I savor those

Moments,

A look between you and

I.

And all is said

There in your eyes.

All that I need.

And hearts still beat,

And lungs still breathe.
And no one knows that time has stopped

Within

Until our eyes

Blink once again.

Many Days

Standard

Many hours

Even music cannot fill the darkness.

So in silence I sit,

In silence

I am full.

Many days my heart is too heavy,

My sight barricades itself

I have not the strength to lift

My

Pen and place it to paper

Or my eyes to sunlight.

I sit in darkness.

In darkness I rest.

And I sink

Beyond my knees to earth.

Beyond touch of hand

Or restless thoughts

Where I lie.

For I do not even whisper there,

I do not not even cry.

Many Moons And Suns

Standard

Many moons

And suns have come and gone

Since you embarked on this journey.

Your feet light with

Anticipation
When you took your first steps

Now have become heavy

With

Impatience and doubt.

Remember your heart.

Remember your heart beating.

Remember the blood coursing through your veins.

Such life. Such beauty.

The moon and sun are still there with you and

They will not give up.

You will not give up.

Remember your heart.

Remember your heart beating,

And open your eyes.

Open them fully.

Breathe many breaths.

Open your eyes.

See.

Truly you know, if you wish,

You can fly.

Familiarity

Standard

Soul on soul.

Becoming together.

Heated touch upon skin.

We  move nearer,  into one

Another.

In limbo no longer,

We collide.

We have been here eternally.

Lifetimes ago.

I was going mad waiting for you.

We carried an insanity in our minds

Until we realized,

Until we recognized the

Soulshine reflected in our eyes.

A familiarity known.

Throwing Pennies

Standard

Now and again,

(when i was young)

The prostitutes would try and hustle

Just outside the neighborhood

I was raised in.

Some mornings they would be on the street that

Several other kids and I biked on our way to school.

Some of the kids would throw pennies

(sometimes they would get thrown back)

And yell obscenities at the ladies as we rode by.

I was always the last in line to pass them and

Could not help but look in their eyes,

Smile and blush.

Terribly embarrassed

I would

Yell

“I am sorry!”

And pedal as fast as I could to get away,

Trying to set my mind on

Learning and books.

For You

Standard

the tremble in his voice

the ache in his heart

his blood and sweat

the reach of his hand

His strength as he stands

you have made his world beauty itself

he has walked this earth to see you smile and carries you everywhere with him.

his dreams

his heart malleable in your heartbeat

his eyes

his soul for you

all for you
