Crash

Standard

His halogen mind

Sheds light on everything;

Everyone.

Nothing left in the dark

As his heartbeat song

Creates a thunderous

Crash

Awakening the sleepy

Bones

Of those

Thought dead;

And on they dance.

Sparks within the mind remembering;

Oxygen expands.

Breathe.

Fire meets fire,

The blaze burns.

Love creates life;

Love and live.

On he shines.

Air

Standard

Sitting on the front porch swing

Watching the clouds transform

As they swirl

And crash into each other;

Mixing and changing so naturally.

Separate ,

Then together.

Separate

And one.

Give and take; meld.

Never the same cloud remains

When i take my eyes away.

And they dance on

Dissapating

Becoming the air that I breathe.

I look back and they are gone;

And look back.

Glimmer

Standard

I can think of no other;

And even the little hairs on my body rejoice at the thought of you,

Reaching for you

As you come near.

The heat at my center spreads

And the words fail to fall from my lips;

They cannot make the connection from my mind to my heart

Crashing into one another

In the rush to embrace all of you.

All the particles of us disperse

As night and day disappear

Bursting forth at our touch.

Creation.

This glimmer,

A new universe

Beginning.

New elements we become.

Unprecedented.

One Summer

Standard

My step brother came for a short visit one summer.

There was a 12 year age gap between us.

(I thought he was so cool in his soft top jeep.)

Anyway, that summer I was 10.

We were in the backyard having lunch while sitting at the big red picnic table my dad built

When we heard a very strange, loud crash.

We ran out of the yard and looked in the direction of the noise to see black smoke rising high.

My brother ran inside and grabbed his camera.

Off we went to investigate.

Even though it was just the next street over the fire engines and ambulance were already  there.

A small plane had crashed into the corner of an apartment.

I remember the smell of burning flesh and against my brothers adamant pleas to go away,

I stayed watching as they put a burnt body in a body bag

and carried it away.

I think there was only one body.
