Them

Standard

When one least expects

Along comes the soul,

The one who simply loves you

And your human ways.

Limbo.

You have been afraid to even spill milk

Because the world did almost end once;

Unseen bullet holes.

Unseen scars that seeped into bone.

But that was then

And that was them,

This is now

And they are gone.

Tears

Standard

She stood staring at the monument,

Her mind taken back

To then.

Was that the same wind blowing through her hair

That blew

On a day so very long ago?

Has it just been traveling the world;

Been out there somewhere waiting to hear her heart beat again?

Now she was

Afraid to turn around.

Not ready to leave,

Fearful the tears would fall

And a passerby would stare.

They would most likely

Assume she must be drunk or out of her mind.

No, she teetered on the edge and almost plunged

But

She was

Simply sad.

Just plain sad. People do not like to see that

Sadness.

Tears.

Internally

Standard

I hold internally
These monsters
That scratch and tear
At my insides.
I have held them tight
In hopes of their suffocation.
Now I hemorrhage instead.
I believed these things were holding me Prisoner.
Keeping me in the dark.
Obscuring my sight.
When it is
I
Who keep them.
Afraid to be alone.
Afraid to be free.
For there have been times
They have escaped me;
I beckoned them return.
Now my strength grows weary
And my body is strained
In holding them.
My eyes tire so in this self imposed darkness,
My skin left longing for the soft caress of

Light.
This unhappiness I wear
From time to time makes me forget
All that is well.
And these monsters,
They wish to be free
From
Me.

Without Fear

Standard

You are afraid of the way she leaves you

Reeling.

She can feel you.

See more than your skin.

Parts of you not one single heart has

Seen.

Or held.

No questions

Or explanations.

Just being.

You move to her without resistance

For there is none left,

Not even in your darkest parts.

The voices have hushed.

She has penetrated and annihilated the threat

For she is audacious.

Reached into them with her unspoken light

And held each one to her soul.

Singing them to sleep

Without destroying herself.

Now look.

Without fear there is only

Love.
