Humanness

Standard

So many people feeling less than.

Surrounded by criticism.

Held hostage by

Those who hold onto forgiveness

And definitions

As power,

Desiring unobtainable perfection through their eyes alone.

Sweet soul,

You are perfectly perfect being human.

Perfection is accepting your humanness,

Our humanness

And the whole of us.

Our so called flaws are part of us.

They make us even more beautiful.

We Have Each Other

Standard

I followed him into his garden.

And there we held each other

And listened as our hearts sang in

Sorrow.

The sky darkened

And that is when I heard

Him

Weeping silently.

We wept together

Holding on until our hearts began singing a familiar song.

And as the sky cleared we heard others singing out too,

“We have each other.

We have each other.”

Constant Abode

Standard

Pardon me while I hold on to

You selfishly from time to time

My child.

For you are part of me.

Infused in my

Bones

And heart,

My being.

Peace settles me completely

When in my arms you sleep.

And supreme joy engulfs me

When your hand in mine

You keep.

 Eternally

My heart exceeds mortal capacity

As

I watch you soar.

And always here I am with

A heart of flame if ever you need more

Kindling to begin again

A fire of your own.

Always

Always

A constant abode.

The Dock

Standard

The boat is easing up to the dock.

My friend you have returned

And tears fill my eyes.

Alas the reflection of the summer sun

Upon the water stings my eyes

As I frantically search for you.

My heartstrings play your name as my feet

Carry me to you.

Arms and legs no longer heavy.

Heartbeats fall into sync.

Our smiles speak of perfect happiness.

Bliss unspoken.

And there upon the dock we are home.
