Sinking Ships

Standard

We were two sinking ships

Who could not quite

Reach each other in the squall.

Too

Overwhelmed and lost;

Arms too weakened to hold

Anyone but ourselves

Above the crashing waves.

Oh how I loved you.

And the crashing thunder

Roared pitilessly

Drowning out the sound

Of my breaking heart

As I,

Myself drowning,

Helplessly watched

You drift out of

Sight.

Cocoon

Standard

Seems she has been in her cocoon
For some time now.
Lingering
There,
In between.
Wings damp
Eyes wide open
Wondering if maybe she took too long,
For she has always been one to fall behind.
Following her heart in haste
Leaving her mind reeling;
Confused by the games.

(She thinks she was sleeping while they read the rules)
She had immersed herself in
Her own
Ethereal
Delicious love
Only to find herself alone
Upon
Emerging from the healing.
She will rise up through
The air
Now.
She is aware
Ceilings, walls

And floors
Are imaginary.

The Most

Standard

There are people i remember,
Then those
I have forgotten
Until i see their
Face.
And memories return
But not the same memories
They recall;
And i think
Isn’t that odd
What means the most?
Some are ghosts
And some still wander here with feet upon
This earth.
I am left pondering
As they walk away;
Until
Thunder startles
Me.
And i remember
There are things I have left undone.
