Do not fear your own wildness.
Set yourself free.
The part of you
That you put to sleep
When you were young
After being told
You were too much.
Always too much.
Too much beauty.
Too much
Laughter.
Too much loudness.
Too many questions.
Let your wild hair down.
Let your wild voice sing.
Let your wild feet dance.
Let your wild eyes see.
Let your wild arms embrace.
Let your wild out.
Set yourself free.
For You
the tremble in his voice
the ache in his heart
his blood and sweat
the reach of his hand
His strength as he stands
you have made his world beauty itself
he has walked this earth to see you smile and carries you everywhere with him.
his dreams
his heart malleable in your heartbeat
his eyes
his soul for you
all for you
Intentions
exactly
what are your intentions
as you
lift your voice and
preach most mightily,
most vigorously
for peace
with a mouth full of poison
and a heart
full
of hate?
Undo
you undo my mind
my heart follows eagerly
you knowingly wield your
power untying the knots within us
with words you bring forth
emotions
stir them awake
my body begins to shake
yet the final calling is silent,
it is the look in your eyes
that releases me from anything
i have held
back
Always Held
I have been the waves that carried you home
When you were lost at sea.
I was the the rain that fell upon your
Weary head
And
Quenched your thirst.
I have been the desert that left you dry and helplessly
Crawling;
The oasis in the sand.
I was the sky that held you up so long ago
And the stars you have wished upon.
But
In this life;
I am the arms that hold you.
Yes,
My heart has always held you.
Got Lost
Not long ago I got lost in an Italian town.
(Honestly I have been lost more than once this lifetime)
Looming stone walls.
Narrow walk ways.
Monks conversing
And
Children playing ball
On the cobblestone.
My heart began thumping
And my mind was a whirl.
I paused to retrieve my map
And realized
I left it with my bicycle.
My phone was dead.
(of course I remembered all of my camera gear
but I did forget to eat)
So caught up in the
Minute details;
My own world as i wondered and
wandered
That
I lost time;
I lost my way.
I then looked to the sky and caught my breath.
What a beautiful place to be lost and well.
I continued on my way then.
Wandering in no hurry
Until
I found myself back with my bike.
Standing Tall
Pushing.
Pulling.
Laughing while
Drowning.
Reaching.
Withdrawing.
Smiling more
Than necessary.
Heaven forbid someone
Asks…….
Turmoil.
Twisting and turning.
Nauseous belly.
Quickly glance away.
Everything’s alright;
Could be worse.
Getting back up hoping
Nobody sees
Bloody knees,
Tear stained wrists.
The people keep moving.
The world keeps rotating.
Noises never cease.
Spinning.
Falling.
Standing tall is all people
Prefer to see.
just keep smiling
Summer Ran
Crunchy leaves
brown, orange, yellow
Under my feet.
I
try to step lightly
But
It is no use.
The bench is empty,
Waiting for my company.
The swing set too
Swings so lonely.
Rusty bolts add color to the gray.
The schoolchildren
Are tending to books
Now.
I am trying to count the clouds
But
They join into one and block the sun.
Summer;
Summer
Ran away.
Many
I have journeyed
Many trails.
Reaching in triumph
Various mountainous peaks
Where I was, in turn, met with
Spectacular views.
Yet there have been countless times
I have not quite made it to the top of
Those
Towering peaks;
Still I keep
Moving.
I remain a victor of this journey.
Hurts
New hurts
Become entangled in old hurts.
(you still grasp them so tight)
We forget they
Are not connected
To one another.
