I belong to the stars
I call them home

She was tossing
Confetti
in the air.
She was the drunk girl
sobbing
On the park bench.
Alone.
She was the solitaire
Shadow
Stumbling home
In the dark,
In her heels.
The glitter in her hair
Shimmering
By the light of the street lamp.
Her body over overcome
With sorrow.
She was the girl climbing through
The 2nd story window
Because the keys were forgot
And the doors were locked
She was the girl
tending her heart
Because although
It’s the beginning of
The New Year
And blessings abound
Ahead
She had lost
More than one
Sweet
Love
To the
Heavens
This last year
Round.
She took
A slow shaky
Breath.

The loving
The winning
The losing.
