I thought you waited.
You thought I left.
I thought you spoke.
You thought I said.
I thought,
We fought.
You thought,
We fought.
Why didn’t we just ask?
I thought you waited.
You thought I left.
I thought you spoke.
You thought I said.
I thought,
We fought.
You thought,
We fought.
Why didn’t we just ask?
I’ve lost my mind
You’ve lost your heart.
We knew it was a matter of time
We were burning so bright,
So fast.
I almost died from loneliness waiting for you.
Your heart once beat for me,
It’s true.
When you looked around
It was my eyes you searched for,
My face you longed to see.
Now you pass me by with no regard,
Your eyes fixed up ahead.
And for the longest time I wondered what I did.
It wasn’t me
It wasn’t you.
It wasn’t me.
It wasn’t you.
And the raindrop
Rests so carefully
On the petals.
And the flower,
She only drinks
As much as she needs
To
Fully
Blossom.
Is she closer to
Heaven
Than the rest of us?
The way she loves each soul,
She loves them whole.
For what they show
And
What they don’t.
The way she glides through the air
And glows like the sun.
That must be where she’s from.
Heaven sent.
Standing in the house.
Trying to hold the walls up while the shadows die.
Windows cracking,
Shattering to pieces
As the
Elephant
Is let loose
Wrecking havoc.
Some are still sleeping,
Or pretending too
In scattered spaces.
They sleep half awake
Hoping and praying that in the morning
The sun will be showing
And all will be put back in its place.
Instead they will find a
Big gaping hole filled with
Broken memories and tear stained letters,
Fragments of half truths
And lies.
Just another
Elephant in
Disguise.
Why do you feel so small,
So invisible
My
Love
When the sun and the moon
Await their turn to see you smile?
Each
Often prolonging the inevitable
Journey back
To the edge of the horizon
For fear of losing sight
Of
You.
I wonder if you find yourself
Suddenly turning your gaze to the
North.
That primordial yearning stirring,
Sensing
The
Pull of me
To
You.
There have been people in my life,
Seems as if they just passed me by.
Like we had just a minute or two
And they were gone.
Oh how some people,
They steal your heart.
So
Let them know.
Don’t hold back love like a secret.
Time goes by fast.
One day you wake up
Running with the sun,
Thinking you have tomorrow.
By evening you are looking to
The moon crying
Wondering why they had to leave
So
Soon.
Time
Tick
Time
Tock
Goes the clock
Out of synch with my beating heart.
And the gears
Seem to know their job.
To know exactly what to do at the precise moment.
Time
Tick
Time
Tock
My heart so clumsy and forgetful
In comparison to the graceful way
The
Pendulum
Swings.
It keeps swaying,
Steadfast.
It does not ask questions
Or
Reminisce.
All the while my heart thumping
To fill in the
Moments
In-between each
Tick.
In-between each
Tock.
Until
The clock,
It
Stops.
Delight
In the beauty of a new day.
Set your feet firmly
On
Mother Earth
And be thankful.
