Coyote

Standard

When she wanders

On and on,

One step at a time

Into the wilderness,

The emptiness disappears.

And she is filled with

Flowers and moss,

Berries and bark.

The wind speaking her native tongue in

Whispers to her soul.

Floating in the infinity of the veil.

The coyotes call to family bring her back,

Reminding her the sun is setting

And she slowly returns home to

Sweet slumber.

Another day is done.

Crash

Standard

His halogen mind

Sheds light on everything;

Everyone.

Nothing left in the dark

As his heartbeat song

Creates a thunderous

Crash

Awakening the sleepy

Bones

Of those

Thought dead;

And on they dance.

Sparks within the mind remembering;

Oxygen expands.

Breathe.

Fire meets fire,

The blaze burns.

Love creates life;

Love and live.

On he shines.

Vultures

Standard

The Turkey Vultures

Circle gracefully overhead

In the clear blue sky.

Surely it is not me they are eyeing,

For I am more alive than ever.

Perhaps it is the plethora of

Old ideas and beliefs of me left shed among

The dead leaves which

Whets their appetite?

To which I say,

“Feast! Enjoy every morsel for there is

More to come.”

We Are

Standard

Let your voice be the song

That reminds

Each soul of the beauty they have within.

Sing

A peaceful tune, clear and sweet

That carries hearts home

To

Their own love.

We are the medicine.

We are

The cure.

We always have been;

It comes out from within.

Remind them.

Remind them.

With your song

Steady and smoothly falling from your lips,

Beating from your heart.

The perfect pitch.

 The infinite resonance

Of Love.

Sacred Soil

Standard

We are stepping on sacred soil,

The blood and bones of those gone before

Beneath the soles of our feet.

Breathe in and out every breath thankful for the moment;

Breathing sacred air.

We,

Still

Exchanging breaths of love and loss with our ancestors

As the wind caresses this earth;

Tenderly touching our skin.

Listen to the sacred song.

Be aware,

Be present and heed the true call.

The answer is always love.

False

Standard

They punish her in their silent ways.

After she has spoken up,

After she is exhausted.

The ones she loves most.

Unapologetically,

Indirectly

Forgetting.

She is soft to them,

She is weak.

She knows she has been taken advantage of,

Manipulation in their pious suffering

Pulling at her heart.

She bends,

She sways.

To be there when the weight is so heavy

On her.

She moves ever so slowly.

They know

She has yet to speak and then

It leaves her mind as to why;

She cries.

She cannot be who they think she should be in

Their false strength

And the lights go out.

I Am

Standard

I find myself

Wandering in the densest

Forest.

Without a sound I lay myself down

In the moss, the twigs, the leaves

And I breathe.

I am them and they are me,

The earth,

The stars,

This air.

And that has to be enough in this moment

For I hang on silently,

The merest

Particle

Brushing my fingertips;

As this air strums my

Out of tune heart,

Strings stretched to snap.

Thump.

As my heartbeat slows i am

Reimmersed;

Securely wrapped

In the cocoon;

The womb, The tomb.

In stillness I become the miraculous healing.

All else is released but love.

In a gasp of breath reborn;

Nothing remains to mourn.

I am.
