Followed Me

Standard

I have seen the moon and the sun outside my

Window.
The same moon and sun which  have followed

Me since

My arrival.

Throughout my life on many continents,

They have been

In the same big sky

Watching over me.

Sometimes they whisper,

“From here you look so beautiful,

So tiny.

Why do you continue to

Believe  your

Problems are so big

And your beauty so small?”

Transcending Tranquility

Standard

Music pulsing

Dance floor vibrations

Nocturnal visions multiply

I am here because

I am

Transcending tranquility

Continual beats

Fast or slow

I go

Where i go

Primal flows of body, mind

And soul

To rhythms timeless

Unending motions cause

Undulation across oceans

Rippling

Undoing realities set on sand

Hands touch

Lips brush

We

Us

Consummated

Entity.

Division

Standard

Waiting.

I asked you to slow down,

I could not keep up.

So you trudged on ahead

Never looking back

And i lost sight of you

Out there.
I came to a division of many

paths

Where i took a moment to rest,

My strength dwindling.

And i waited.

I waited

And i counted the stars.

I took shelter in the trees

Thinking

At any moment

You might return

To me.
I woke to a cold frost

And realized i could not stay without nourishment and shelter

Through more seasons.

And had to choose a path

One that did not lead me to you

But

Mountain top

Where i could see

Many other peaks in front of

Me.

And there my whole body

Was filled with a sense of

Possibility.

Much time went by

And you found me

But you were angry

I did not wait longer for your return.

I will no longer apologize for the natural need to take care of myself.
And on I went without you

On to the next valley

And on to the next peak

And i took my own breath away

As each day i

Stood up.

Olive Tree

Standard

As

Evenings light was falling

I chose to take

A walk among the olive trees.

Others were elsewhere

Settling for dinner.

The earth was dry,

Dust rising and making a bit

Of a haze as

I moved toward the sun.

I came to a low rock wall deep in the orchard

And

Decided to take

A moment of rest.

Removing my backpack to use as a pillow

I lay upon the ground.

I swear I heard laughter

And the shuffle of bare feet behind me,

I quickly sat up and turned my head to find no

one around.
Maybe the ghosts were as delighted as me

Under those old olive trees.

And I wondered how many souls had tread

Here,

How many had stopped to take a moment and

Replenish their weary hearts with these roots

Beneath them?

How many partook

With joy

The nectar

Of the olive tree before me?

Swaying

Standard

Now I sit in the rocker by the window.

The motion,

The melodious creak bringing me

Comfort.

And I stare at the trees and the clouds

Swaying in the rhythm of the wind.

An occasional

Blue jay or dove stops within my view

In search of nourishment.

And I let my mind wander where it will

As light slowly

Slinks away to make room

For

Night.
