Every Morning
Every morning
Someone is falling apart,
Someone is building up.
Someone is on their knees feeling depleted,
Someone is elated.
And this is life.
Our experiences shape our perspective
And awareness
And open us up
To more wisdom and compassion
If we so choose.
Ashes
He had to crawl out from the ashes
Of his own self destruction.
Do not tell him he is not
Strong.
Sky Is Blue
In the heart of the city today,
City noises
City voices.
Construction and sirens.
Another train rumbles through.
The sky is blue
And wherever i am,
I think of you.
Pigeons cooing and cars honking.
Exhaust in my lungs.
City bus brakes squeaking and I am thinking of you.
People smiling, people frowning.
Speculating.
The sky is still blue and I am
Thinking of you.
Hypocrisy
Hypocrisy
Does not recognize itself
Even when gazing upon its own reflection in the mirror,
Until willingly,
It removes the mask.
Folding Wicker Door
When I was young,
If I had to be inside
I would gladly retreat to my bedroom.
My floppy folding wicker door
Did not keep the
Sounds of commotion and destruction
Out
But,
It gave me a place to run away
With elves
And dragons
And music
And magic.
A barrier of sorts.
It was a magic folding wicker door.
A Drive
Went for a drive today.
Forgot about everything for a while,
But the clouds and sky.
Went for a drive today.
Stopped wondering why for a little bit
And let my mind wander to softer thoughts.
Life is as good as you see it to be.
Say
When you say
“Love all”
Do you believe this to be true in
Your bones and soul
Or
Are you merely echoing
Words?
Missing Bit
I brought a missing bit of
My heart back to me today.
I went back and found it
Where i had
Left it full of sorrow
And i held it.
I let myself love this bit
And validate the fact that it
Truly loved me.
My heart missed itself.
Wanting
I shall never get to the end of you,
For there is always more
And i am left with a
Consuming desire.
