In the silence

You were listening

You knew right away

You heard my heart stop beating

And looked at me to say,

So I  closed my eyes and listened

And only then did it start

This unfamiliar beating

A new rhythm

In my heart.

I became the music

I let it penetrate my soul.

I became the music

And for the first time

I was whole.
